Veneers

Our team has helped many patients improve their smiles with the help of dental veneers. If you feel unhappy about the colour, size or shape of your teeth, the thin shells of high-quality porcelain used by our Brisbane dentists are translucent and durable so they look natural yet are strong enough to endure daily chewing and temperature fluctuations.

From design to placement, the whole veneer process typically takes just two visits. In the first visit, we look at your facial features, skin tone, mouth shape and personal preferences before taking impressions and showing you the digital preview of how your smile will look.

We then put temporary veneers in place. The temporary veneers will allow you to become accustomed to the look and feel of your new smile. After your handcrafted porcelain veneers arrive, you will come in for a second visit where the dentist will cement them in place.

Preventative dental does what it says on the box. It’s about preventing decay, cavities, gum disease and more. Preventative practices that help keep these at bay include daily brushing and flossing, regular dental check-ups and routine cleaning.

We suggest check-ups and cleaning twice a year so we can perform a full assessment of your teeth and gums. These visits will also include a periodontal (gum) evaluation, bite analysis, and tooth-by-tooth examination to provide us with a clear picture of your oral health.

Hygienist

At New Farm Dental Studio, our appointments are individually tailored to you.  The treatment goes beyond 'just a clean', we prevent and treat your gum disease (periodontal disease).  You may have noticed warning signs like, bleeding or receding gums, sensitivity, red and swollen gums, tooth movement.  We take the time to examine you thoroughly and our hygienists follow your bespoke treatment plan.

Patients with Sensitive Teeth

Our hygienists are trained in using the AIRFLOW® Prophylaxis Master and now use this revolutionary technology with all our patients. The Airflow Dental Technology is proven to provide a quicker, more effective, and comfortable treatment even for the most sensitive of teeth. Using a mixture of air, warm water and fine powder, AIRFLOW® gently buffs away stains, plaque, and calculus/tartar to ensure you have one of the most pleasant cleans you’ll ever experience.

Whenever possible, we want to preserve your natural teeth so if a tooth nerve starts to die or becomes severely inflamed due to deep decay or significant trauma, we will remove the infected tissue and disinfect the area. Once it’s clean, we seal it back up again. Sometimes the tooth may need a crown to protect the remaining tooth structure.

Dr Mark Calvert and his team our skilled at handling all types of dental emergencies from toothaches to chipped or broken teeth, to impacted wisdom teeth and broken dentures. We will help deal with your dental emergency efficiently, addressing your issue and making you comfortable as quickly as possible.

Because wisdom teeth are the last set of molars to appear, sometimes they can cause pain or discomfort if they don’t have enough space and can damage the other teeth as well as causing infections.

We can arrange a (bulk-billed) x-ray to show the position of your wisdom teeth and this will help us to decide whether removal is necessary.

A problematic tooth can be removed quickly and efficiently and once gone, you will find the discomfort will subside.
